There is something beautiful about the human voice. Even if you are not a
fan of traditional choral music, the evening was a gift to anyone seeking quiet
reflection on the wonder of God becoming man and taking our place in the supreme
act of giving. The blend of voices, filling the historic building of St Mary's
Long Crendon was a welcome preparation for the Easter weekend.
This was a joint venture with a combined choir from the Church of St Mary the Virgin and Long Crendon Baptist Church,as well as singers from Nether Winchendon and Chearsley churches. The evening was rich in quality and all the greater knowing new friendships were formed as the churches rehearsed and sung together. With so much of Stainer's Crucifixion being lifted straight from the Bible, the evening was a spiritual exercise in hearing God's account of the things which indeed are the most beautiful to the human soul.
The lovely stained glass window is in St Mary's church.
