We celebrated the wonderful news of the Resurrection on Easter Sunday with joy, but with a hint of sadness knowing this was the last time we would worship in the Chapel in its current form.
However we look forward to the exciting new chapter when we will be able to
join together instead of some of us being relegated to the overflow!
On Easter Monday there was a final work party, with the last old pews dismantled and essential electronics removed.
Then the doors were finally closed before handing over to
the builders on April 2nd.
There have
been Baptists in Long Crendon since the 17th Century, with the current Chapel
being built in the mid 19th Century. We
anticipate that the renovations and rebuilding works in the 21st Century will enable
us to continue to serve our village community in more suitable accommodation.
